Wow...where do I start? Well...I feel like a completely different person since I have been involved with CrossFit Central in the best way possible and honestly in every aspect of my life. Not with just the new fitness level I have been able to achieve, although I do believe that is a big part of being truly happy, but with my whole outlook on life. CrossFit brings out the person inside you that you may or may not have known was even there. Once you make up your mind that you want to be more, do more, accomplish more, dream more...CrossFit opens that door. Once you push yourself to the limit physically and mentally it's like everything else is easier and your mind frame changes to say..."okay, I can do that and so much more." It's a beautiful thing.
Why is CrossFit different from other workouts??? There is no more boring cardio machine for 45 minutes to an hour followed by 20-30 minutes of weights. No way! It is short, intense and best of all it delivers results!! I have always been a workout junkie...tried different boot camps when I lived out in LA that claimed to be the "best of the best" made for celebs. Whatever!! They were good but I never stuck with them for long. I tried 2 different boot camps here in Austin...I thought they were hard...but they don't even compare! I picked up running and yoga and spin all of which I still love and practice. But before CrossFit with all that working out I did guess what I got? FRUSTRATED! Yes I felt good and in shape but for as much time and energy I was putting into my workouts I just wasn't seeing the results I thought I should. When the "oh so fabulous" Carey Kepler introduced me to CrossFit it was like I FINALLY found the answer! I feel stronger than ever! More empowered than ever! Energized and Ambitious! I want MORE, MORE, MORE!
I have a long way to go but I am on my way to the top!! And I now have the confidence in myself to actually believe that...which to me is almost as good.
The top picture of me is from my first half marathon which at the time was probably the best shape I'd been in. But if you compare it to the 2 pictures below you can see how much more tone and muscle definition I have gained from doing CrossFit. I train a lot less now time wise and get more results.
In the last 7 months I have lost 5 lbs, gained muscle, dropped 4% body fat and went from a size 6 to a size 4. Ready to keep pushing! 3...2...1...GO!
