Patience = Power

Above I am celebrating after a successful lift, yes, being a little goofy when I should've probably been focused but it's okay to have a little fun too right?! Last week the coaches were lucky enough to have another crossfit stud coach, Dutch Lowey, visit our gym and help us with the Snatch, the Clean and the Jerk. We spent 3 hours on 3 moves! I thought I knew everything there was to know about these moves, I just needed to practice more and perfect my form and get stronger. Wrong! I learned tiny details that made huge differences but what left the biggest impact on me was PATIENCE=POWER! Here I am trying to hoist 100 lbs. from the ground overhead and catching it in a squat and you want me to slow down and be patient? Yup! Crazy hu?

This whole idea of patience equals power transfers over to everyday life too though. Ah ha...crossfit is now functional physically AND mentally/emotionally! Meeting your individual goals takes time and you have to be willing to be patient and keep driving forward, get over the bumps along the way and see it through to the end. Decide what you want, set your goals, put the steps in place on how you are going to obtain them and then go for it but know patience is going to come into play. 3 months? 1 year? 2 years?? That is nothing in the span of a lifetime!! Be patient, you'll get there.
