COMPETE

Last week we held our first round of team tryouts for the 2012 Games season and I had SO MUCH FUN! It was exactly what I have been needing to re-fuel the fire to compete. Last year I was mentally just not in it. I was engaged, planning a wedding, working a TON to afford the wedding and honeymoon and just did not have the mental space I needed or time to really put the energy necessary towards being a serious competitor. I missed that adrenaline rush you get after pushing yourself farther than you thought you could, hitting a new PR, feeling like I am a part of something big, passionate about just playing the sport I love. Last week gave me all of that back and confirmed I have what it takes if I want it...and I DO!

Each year of competing has been a huge learning experience for me and this year I feel like I have learned enough about myself to know that the right balance and mindset will make me better than ever before and more enjoyable than ever before. Here is my plan:

1. BALANCE work, training and personal life...living in the ZONE!

2. Have FUN, don't take myself too seriously and enjoy the process!

3. CELEBRATE the accomplishments, successes and even failures that I can learn and grow from!

4. NO FEAR...forget about what other people think of me or comparing myself to others. Me against me!

5. Set GOALS...know what I want and go get it!

I am excited about this year and have a whole new fresh view towards competing! First up, The Fittest Games in 5 days with Alex Janss, Miguel Garza and Connor Moore! Yee Haw!

Have fun at The Fittest Games - it's always so cool hearing about the CC ladies tearing it up.

Oh, and your Goal #4 is speaking to me. I like it... a lot. I like the "it's just me against me" mentality.
